Abstract*
We describe and compare various implementations of sequential iterative algorithms (SIA) for the finite-element solution of 3D multi-component groundwater transport systems with nonlinear bioremediation reactions. The SIA is applied for the outer nonlinear iterations and Krylov solvers are applied for the inner linear system solution. A parallel implementation enable us to test very large systems on parallel architectures. Our preliminary results show that slight modifications of the standard SIA algorithm yield better convergence performance than standard SIA for most cases tested.
