EXTENSION

I have spent a considerable part of my career working with turf managers, particularly golf superintendents, in solving turf problems. I particularly enjoy the challenge of disease diagnosis and the personal satisfaction that goes along with identifying a problem and helping a turf manager fix it.

I believe that research serves no purpose sitting on dusty shelves, therefore I have made information delivery a priority. While serving as IPM coordinator at the CDGA, I developed and maintained Interactive Turf, a web application that monitors weather data and pest outbreaks as they occurred througout Illinois. I also have written numerous reports for trade magazines and presented at industry meetings to deliver research that will immediately improve disease management practices.
