Book: A Transition to
Advanced Mathematics, by Smith, Eggen, and Andre
- There
will be formal homework and homework problems will be assigned. I expect you to be able to work any
problem in the book. Only select
homework will be collected. When it is appropriate in terms of material
covered, we will have an announced homework quiz. There will be a midterm and a final
- The final grade will be computed as
follows: The average of the homework quizes and homework will count as 1/3
of your grade. The midterm will count 1/3 and the final will count 1/3..
- I will not take daily attendance, but
you are expected to attend the class. I will know if you establish a
pattern of not attending. Also if you do not attend you chances of doing
well are small. University attendance policies can be found at attendance
- If you miss a test you must either tell
me the reason before the absence or have a vaild documented excuse. Within
these restrictions you may make up a test.
- If I stop having fun in the
class.....I will leave.
- There will be two
inclass test, a final exam, and homework.

The exam will count 30%
2.
The tests will count 20% each
3.
The homework will count 10%
