Petersburg National Battlefield

    Using orthorectified areal photography of the Five Forks Reigon of the Petersburg National Battlefield, stand boundaries were created for the years 1992 and 2002.  Using our original classification system, our team classified each stand at four different levels.  Level I is the most general, describing forest, agriculture, water, transitional or built-up land.  Level IV is the most specific, describing different densities of forest.
    Using ArcGIS we computed the acerage of land for each classification level and analyized the changes that occured in the 10 year period between the two photos.
