Hello, My name is Charon Teretha Miller and I am a freshman here at NC State. My major is computer science so I am under the school of engineering. I mainly chose computer science because I like working with computers. Also computer science is a very good field to go in because there is a shortage of computer programmers which makes higher demand and higher pay. The starting salary for computer programmer is very good and I want to have a good paying job so that one day when I have my own family I can support them.
Franklin Street is really big because it gets a lot of publicity. I think that NC State should make more of a big deal about the Hillsborough Street Halloween celebration to compete with Franklin Street for publicity. If we keeping having the Halloween celebration on Hillsborough it will grow every year which will get us up to standards with Franklin Street. Also I think that Hillsborough should be closed off because that will bring in a bigger crowd since Franklin Street is closed off. I think a combination of all these changes will help NC State better compete with Franklin Street.
