Merriam-Webster On-Line Dictionary (can hear the pronunciation of words
as well as look up their meaning. Can also search for synonyms and antonyms.)
Listening activites
Select Independent Studying Lab OR English Listening Lounge (click on "Transcript"
to obtain text so that you can follow along with the audio)
Listening Practice for International Teaching Assistants
Historical and Political Speeches (Listen to famous speeches on "Real Player" and read the transcripts.)
Punctuation Explanation and Practice
Pronunciation (Click on "Launch English Library) in upper right hand area of site, and you will have access to
phonetic symbols,examples and visual descriptions of English vowel and consonant sounds.
