Cockroaches in culture | Lab facilities | Analytical equipment

Our lab is located in Gardner Hall, on the North Campus of NCSU. It contains a separate insect rearing room (200 ft²), a microscopy/tissue culture room (500 ft²), a biochemistry/physiology room (700 ft²) and a behavioral assay section (500 ft²), which alleviates problems of cross-contamination with pheromones and hormones. The behavior lab consists of a walk-in temperature and humidity microprocessor-controlled room and 7 reach-in incubators. We are fully equipped for cockroach rearing and maintenance.
A new Biological Resources Facility houses small animals and generates antibodies on a fee-for-service basis. A hybridoma facility is available at the College of Veterinary Medicine. [ TOP OF PAGE ]
