Collaborators
As with most science and conservation, progress is made possible through the help of many collaborators. I am forever indebted to the following people and organizations, many of whom are truly exceptional at what they do. I apologize in advance if I have not yet added you to the list, so please send me a link to your page if you are missing.
Dr. Maria Alice Alves - Head of the Ornithology lab at the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. Also largely responsible for my having survived my early years in Brazil.
Dr. Mariana Vale - My fearless colleague who searches for birds in parts of the Amazon so remote that even Google Earth has troubling finding them.
Instituto de Pesquisas Ecológicas (IPÊ) - One of my favorite Brazilian conservation and education groups. IPÊ is an exceptional organization and it is always a pleasure to teach there.

Golden Lion Tamarin Association - Another of my favorite Brazilian conservation groups, one that has been very successful in the protection and reintroduction of the Golden Lion Tamarin. We continue to work together to restore and reconnect the forest fragments in the Atlantic Forest, home to the tamarins.
Dr. Rob Dunn - All around ant guru and gifted popular science writer.
Dr. Jim Dietz - Expert on Golden Lion Tamarins and an original developer of the CONS program at the University of Maryland.
Dr. Matt Finer - Collaborator in all things related to the Western Amazon, with an amazing talent for finding data.
Dr. Stuart L. Pimm - Leading scientific expert on biodiversity and extinctions.
Dr. Chandra Giri - Remote sensing genius at USGS, mapping the world's mangroves among other projects.
Dr. Gareth Russell - World expert on modeling the habitat of the endangered Cape Sable Seaside Sparrow in the Florida Everglades, among many other talents.
Dr. Grant Harris - My co-researcher in Brazilian Atlantic Forest conservation and now conservation scientist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
