Research Goal
Develop a framework that allows integration of genome-assisted genetic evaluations for routinely collected traits with quantitative and marker-assisted selection for economically relevant traits not currently considered in selection programs
Current research areas
•Development and refinement of methodologies and strategies for genomic selection
•Investigation of general and specific disease resistance in dairy cattle through the use of on-farm recorded data and designed experiments
•Investigation of functional traits in dairy cattle
