I was born in Panama, Panama (this is Central America; I have nothing to do with girls in Panama City, Florida!), the narrow Isthmus bridging the Americas. It has coasts on two oceans: The Pacific and the Caribbean Sea, so spending weekends on the beach is more like a routine for Panamanian (including myself) than a leisure activity. Panama is a rich melting pot of cultures with immigrants from many parts of the globe and a diverse indigenous population. Its population is around 3.5 million people, which makes feel like a “rarity “ in United States . 65% of the population is mestiza, that is, half Spaniards and half indigenous.
A Path Between Two Seas: The Panama Canal
Panama owns one of the Worlds’s engineering masterpieces, a saga of human ingenuity and courage: The Panama Canal. If you ever have the chance to visit Panama you can’t miss the Canal. It is impressive and a delightful experience to anyone who has a taste for engineering!
