Information for International Participants

Fly to Sofia airport (SOF). As per NSF regulations, Americans should fly with a US flag carrier, whenever possible. Please email your itinerary to the organizers after you purchase your ticket. Transportation will be arranged from the airport to the hotel (about 20 minutes by car). For most participants, the arrival date will be May 14 and departure date May 20.

We have reserved a block of rooms at Lozenetz Hotel, which is walking distance from the conference site. We have special rates, 42 euro per night for a single room and 52 euro per night for double. Once you know your travel dates, please ask Ognyan Christov  <christov@fmi.uni-sofia.bg> or Angel Zhivkov <zhivkov@fmi.uni-sofia.bg> to make your hotel reservation.

The conference will be held at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of Sofia University, the first higher education institution in Bulgaria. Sofia (София) is the capital and largest city of Bulgaria (България), a member of the European Union. European and American citizens do not need visas for travel to Bulgaria. The local currency, the lev (plural leva), has a fixed exchange rate of 1 euro = 1.95583 leva. The weather in May is usually pleasant with temperatures averaging 21C (70F) during the day and 12C (54F) during the night.
