Spring 2004, T-Th 9:50-11:05 am, HA 345
Prerequisite: Linear Algebra (MA 520). Familiarity with Lie Algebras (MA 720) is useful but not required.
Contents: This is an introduction to vertex algebras starting from scratch. Several important examples
of vertex algebras will be studied in detail. If time permits, we will also discuss topics of current researchnot readily available in the literature, including representation theory and Zhu theory. Plan: click here for a detailed plan of the lectures.
Instructor: Dr. Bojko Bakalov, office HA 138, phone 513-7442, email bojko_bakalov at ncsu.edu
Office Hours: T-Th afternoon in HA 138.
