About me
Welcome
I'm Brent Harrison and I'm currently a PhD student at NC State (I suppose you could've figured that out from the little black bar at the top, but I'm not worrying about it). I received my B.S. of Computer Science at Auburn University (War Eagle) as well as my B.A. in English. Why do I have an English degree? I'm not sure, but it was fun at the time. My academic interests are many and varied, but for the most part they include artificial intelligence and machine learning. I'm currently working under Dr. David Roberts in applying AI and machine learning techniques to player modeling in games and discovering how these models can be used to create adaptive games. This is currently the topic of my dissertation, so hopefully you'll hear more about that later.Outside of the world of academia I live by a very strict code: Don't worry about it. Did your car just break down? Don't worry about it! Nothing to do on a Friday night? Don't worry about it! Now that we've cleared that up, I also like to do many other things in my free time. Go out with friends (I don't really care where we go, I just like to be out), play games (be they video, board, or any other game that's been invented), watch movies (I have a rotating list of favorite actors, but you can generally get me to watch anything with Alan Rickman in it) just to name a few.
