All groups of friends need an ex-con to complete the group...up until now, we had no ex-con in the group. We never suspected our friend James would become the ex-con we needed, but it happened! James, who also goes by lute, pemo, 324, pregnant-chick-lover, Dr. Johnson, and Jaime, now has a few new aliases like: criminal, jailbird, and ex-con! It all started when I was at work one day and the phone rang...

Me: "[Company], this is Alan..."

Lute : "Dude, you gotta do me a huge favor."

Me: "Uh, oh...what's up?"

Pemo : "Dude, I need you to bail me out of jail."

Me: "What? Are you serious?"

Jaime: "Yep...I'm in jail..."

Well, at this point, I started to die laughing, handed the phone to Steve, and got on another phone to call everyone I knew to tell them Jaime was in jail! Well, Steve and I decided we'd go bail him out fo jail! On the way though, we stopped and got a disposable, 24-exposure camera so we could make James' 'special day' live on forever!

So we get there, and we go up to the magistrate...the whole reason we're there is because one of the magistrates told James he couldn't sign himself out. We tell him we're there to get James Caddell out of jail. So, he gets some piece of paper and tells us it will be $500 and gives us all these options of paying to spring James out of the pokey. I told him that we were told that James had the money, but that he couldn't sign himself out. Well, he didn't know anything about that, so we asked him if we could talk to him on those little phones like you always see in the movies. So, they brought him out...here's what he looked like while he was in the lock-up!

So we told him that he could sign himself out, and he went to talk to the magistrate again. Well, this one said he could, so he paid his $500.00, and after the processing was complete, we had the rare opportunity to get a shot of James as a jail-bird AND a free man! (Above left and right)

[Raleigh Jail] As we walked out of James' home for the last 4 hours (left), he was a happy man! (right). I figured the least I could do was buy him lunch! [Outside Jail]

Oh, I almost forgot...that envelope James has! Well...it seems that hardened criminals such as Pemo might go to any lengths to get out of serving their time...so they took his belt and shoe laces so he wouldn't hang himself...check out his lace-less shoes below!
