So I was in college for quite a while...I won't go through all the times I changed my major, but I got a B.A. in Mass Communication from N.C. State (I also have a minor in Spanish, but I haven't been to Mexico yet...except Caucun).
After that, I decided to go to graduate school to "further my education". So, I went to UNC at Chapel Hill for a degree in Video Production. Their Communication program had some problems in the years before I went, and I ended up leaving there and coming back to N.C. State the next year.
So I finished my M.A. in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Communication and Psychology. For my thesis or final project, I made a short horror movie. It got shown at The Comet on Hillsborough street! (I'm not sure that place is still around, or at least I'm not sure if it still has the same name). Now it lives on my movie page and on You Tube.
While doing my MA, I got re-interested in computer science, so I completed a Certificate of Computer Programming at N.C. State. Next I decided to actually get a B.S. in Computer Science, and I graduated in May, 1999. I started working at IBM on May 24th, 1999. Since starting at IBM, I have worked with network security products among other things, first doing support and now development in C/C++/Java.
I got married on July 10th, 1999...you can check out some pictures of me and my wife.
On May 3rd, 2001, we added a new addition to the family!
I started going to grad school AGAIN for a Master's degree in Computer Science at NCSU. I was planning on finishing up in May of 2004, but finished in December of 2003 because we added our 2nd addition to the family on October 14th, 2003! Finally, we had our 3rd (and final?) child, a boy, on June 23rd, 2005 (I stopped posting photos of them online. It's not like we're celebrities or anything, I just figure it's safer not to have their photos on the Internet!)
I have also been teaching at NCSU since the summer of 2001. I've taught classes in Discretre Math, Perl, HTML, and Java. I authored the book used in the HTML class I teach. I also teach web design and network security classes at ECPI, which is a small, private college in Raleigh.
My hobbies/interests include: God, B-movies, video games (especially classics), coin collecting, RC vehicles, foosball, cards (spades/poker mainly), programming, teaching, and playing sports of all types.
