No matter what anyone tells you, Evil Clutch has my vote for the worst movie ever made. There aren't any cardboard tombstones or anything like that, but the plot is just crazy. I love bad movies, but this one really got to me. It's not "Le Bad" which is what I'm interested in mostly, it's just plain bad. But, it is a horror movie, so you should watch it of course.
The box you look at should of course be thrown away. On the front, it has a woman who is not in the movie with a claw coming out of her shirt. She's in a sexy pose, so you figure it's just like many other cheesy movies. On the back, is a weird looking creature that makes you think there's going to be some good effects at least. I'm still unsure if this creature was in the movie or not. I think something like it is, but I don't remember seeing this particular creature anywhere in there.
Ok, now for the plot. Basically, there's these two people who meet this woman. I guess she is the evil clutch. All sorts of weird things happen, and there's a lot of runnning around in the woods. I think they're trying to get away from something. The woman pops up throughout the movie, but she's not scary, and you usually wonder how she is killing anyone, that is, if she actually is. There's also some other dead guy who comes along. And he's actually on the box, but he's nowhere near as scary as he would seem to be on the box, although, he is the highlight of the movie. So, anyway, the guy is killed, and the girl is possessed. I think she did finally kill the scary man, but are they ever really dead? An in the end, it looks like they're trying to zoom through the woods like they did in Evil Dead, and it looks like the evil lady has fallen down and hit her head on a rock or something like that. But she's not dead either, so I guess it's possible there could be an Evil Clutch 2, but I seriously doubt it.
I am usually the one who stays awake during movies like this, but I had to watch it in 3 sittings! I could not hold my eyes open. They needed more surprises or something. There was just so much walking through the woods that I drifted off to sleep, and it took me 3 days to finish the movie. The production work isn't really too bad, but I think whoever wrote the script was blind, or maybe dead. A must see for die hard B-Horror fans!
