This one is really only bad because the plot is just too far fetched to believe. It's a Roger Corman film...I didn't know this when I rented it, and I've never really put much faith in any movie being directed or produced by anyone in particular. I only mention this because I think this movie had a lower budget than movies he made in the 60s.
Anyway, the plot revolves around this coroner being a serial killer. His latest victim is a lawyer...oh, all of his victims are women. Anyway, she ends up almost escaping, and he cuts off her finger and beats her up pretty bad. He keeps them in a basement in his house. So anyway, after she escapes, she gets the police over, and they don't believe her because the person she is accusing is the coroner. Also, they can't find the basement in the house. Not that this is a bad plot, but there's 2 things that are pretty troubling: When they go to talk to the person, they take her (the victim). I don't think the victim would go with the police to question/arrest the guy. Also, they didn't do anything with DNA or search her for anything the police might have been able to match up. So that's kind of unrealistic.
In the end, she kidnaps the guy and ends up killing him. They catch her and she goes to the looney bin...kind of anti-climatic.
Now, the main character really isn't that great of an actress...all of her dialog sounds so rehearsed, but if you look in the extra parts on the CD, supposedly she's kind of popular in the 'play' circuit....maybe she learned the lines too well!
The final word on this is that it's a pretty good B flick...just get ready to say 'Oh please!' to a lot of parts in it!
