Research Projects
My research focuses on the taxonomy (how organisms are named and classified) and phylogenetics (how organisms are related; how they evolved) of parasitic wasps (Hymenoptera). I am also involved in a number of phyloinformatics projects that focus on taxonomy and imaging:
- Morphbank - on-line image repository
- mx - collaborative on-line (completely web-based) content management system for evolutionary systematists, particularly those working on descriptive taxonomy
- Hymenoptera Ontology - standardized, related vocabulary for Hymenoptera morphology
- Hymenoptera Glossary - glossary of morphological terms for Hymenoptera
- Evanioidea Online - online repository of information about evanioid wasps
