Welcome To My Teaching Portfolio!

My name is Aimee Rockhill and I am a Ph.D. student under Dr. Christopher S. DePerno in the Fisheries and Wildlife Program, Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources at North Carolina State University. I am currently taking part in the Preparing the Professoriate Program (PTP) offered at North Carolina State University. Through the program, I am able to mentor a professor instructing a course and teach the course under the professors supervision the following semester. This past semester, Spring 2008, I have been teaching Natural Resource Management (NR400/500) under the direction of Dr. Robert C. Abt. My teaching goals for this course were to provide students in the Natural Resources field with the tools needed to effectively manage natural resources given various trade offs and values and to help the students understand how closely the forestry, parks and recreation, and wildlife fields are integrated.

Upon graduation, I hope to secure a faculty postion where I am able to combine my interest in teaching and research. Preparing the Professoriate has been an extremely educational and rewarding experience for me. Please click on the above links to learn more about what I have accomplished through the PTP program.
