Grading Policy: Homework - 10%, final exam - 30 %, and each student whose total number of absences is less than or equal to 3 will have their lowest test score dropped: tests (3 x 20%) - 60%; for students with more than the above defined number of absences: tests (4 x 15%) - 60%. There no distinction between "excused" or "unexcused" absences.

Policy on absences:

Students are expected to arrive on time and to stay until the class ends. The attendance policy is consistent with the Academic Regulations which can be found at

In addition, the following clarifications are used in this course: A student may take a makeup exam the week following the scheduled exam provided an excuse consistent with the above referenced NCSU academic policy is presented to the instructor.
