Gentleman's Scholarship
To Whom It May Concern:
The cost of attending college is at an all-time high and while numerous scholarships, grants, and
financial aid exist for a variety of students, many are for specific students based on grades, service,
athletic talents, etc. These different areas recognize significant student accomplishments for various
activities, or for simply being an outstanding student.
The alumni and brothers of Chi Psi Fraternity understand the immense costs of attending a four
year university. To support students that are not only exceptional, well rounded students, but who
will continue to pursue excellence and promote the values of a true gentleman throughout their
collegiate career, we are offering a $400 scholarship to incoming freshmen men who will be attending
North Carolina State University beginning in the fall 2011 semester. To be eligible for the award, the
prospective recipient must meet the criteria and submit an honest, complete application by Saturday, September 10th,
2011.
Our scholarship is open to any first year male student attending North Carolina State University.
Applying and/or receiving the scholarship is not conditional upon any relationship with the Fraternity,
nor does it guarantee the recipient of the award any future relationship with the Fraternity. Applicants
who qualify will be interviewed by a committee of undergraduate students in order to complete the
application process. The finalists will be invited to a formal event in September, where the recipient of
the award will be announced. All finalists will have the option to attend the dinner and meet other
applicants, members, parents, and alumni of Chi Psi Fraternity. If you have any questions about the
application or interview process, please do not hesitate to contact Gavin Lawrence at (919) 522-9523 or
at cglawre2@ncsu.edu. The gentlemen of Chi Psi thank you for your time and attention to this excellent
opportunity for incoming freshmen men.
Sincerely,
Gavin Lawrence
President, Alpha Pi Delta of Chi Psi
