Bonjour! Allow me to tell you a little about myself. My friends call me Alex, and I have moved quite few times in my life. I grew up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina until I was fifteen. I enjoyed playing soccer on the junior varsity team for Mount Tabor and also playing club soccer for the Deacons. I was also very active in my Boy Scout Troop 944 regularly attending camp-outs and helping to lead the troop. The summer before highschool, I met
Ashley Teeter, another life long friend. Sports, Activities and friends had I, but then our family made its first big move to Geneva, Switzerland.
Europe was extraordinary and I hope to return someday! Before I had even arrived in Switzerland, I had already committed to Scout Camp with a troop I had never met. I had a blast! Scouting introduced me to two new friends, Kyle Voigt and Dieter VanWassenhove, with whom I have had many great times in scouting, skiing, mountain biking, and rock climbing. I also played soccer for a Swiss club team and became fluent in french. Unfortunately, we only lived abroad for a year and then moved back to Winston-Salem where we stayed for another year and finally moved to Columbus, Ohio.
Moving my senior year of highschool was easy because I was so used to moving, adapting to a new environment, and making new friends. Again, I made a whole new group of friends and I have included links to their webpages below. My mother, father, sister and cat Smokey are currently living in Ohio. This picture was taken Christmas 2001.
Currently, I am living in Raleigh, North Carolina attending North Carolina State University. This page was developed for one of my biological engineering courses, but I tailored to be used as a reference for myself as well. My future plans include continuing my education with graduate school and eventually working in industrial laboratory research. If you would like to contact me, my email link is about in blue. Feel free to explore the other links on this page. Biomedical Engineers should definitely check out the BMES link below!
