Assignment 7: Writing HTML

HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) has become a required skill in many jobs featuring reading, writing, and publishing.  Many employers seek candidates based on online resumes posted in HTML, and many colleges and universities need information from faculty, especially syllabi, in both print and web-readable form.  These days, many programs have automated HTML-writing (Dreamweaver, Netscape Composer, Frontpage, etc.), but it is still very useful to know what those programs are doing for you.  Using the coding basics you’ve learned, or a web composer program, put your current, revised statement of research interest and bibliography in progress into whatever you consider to be the most attractive, readable HTML form. Pictures, tables, frames are all possible, but consider your rhetoric carefully: who will be reading your text, and what they need to get most easily from it? If you have online sources relevant to your project, you may want to hyperlink the HTML text of your statement of interest to them.
