Estimating run size of anadromous fishes (Roanoke River)

Kevin Magowan Graduate Research Assistant: Mike Waine

The objective of this study is to estimate run size for the different anadromous species migrating up the Roanoke River to spawn. Research techniques include the use of a split-beam echosounder and a DIDSON multi-beam sonar.

DIDSON video clip:

Clip from March 2008, with DIDSON oriented cross-channel from shallow water. How many species can you identify?
