A Short Biography
My name is Aaron Massey. I'm a second year graduate student at North Carolina State University. My current degree objective is a PhD in Computer Science focusing on Computer Security and Privacy issues. I am working with Dr. Antón as a member of ThePrivacyPlace.org.
I'm originally from Noblesville, Indiana, which is just northeast of Indianapolis. I received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Purdue University in 2003. While at Purdue University, I did undergraduate research with Professor Carla Brodley in network intrusion detection.
After graduating from Purdue, I worked for Advanced Micro Devices in Austin, Texas. During my three years at AMD, I worked as a Software Engineer focusing on Embedded Systems. Primarily my work consisted of writing Linux device drivers for the MIPS based Alchemy line of processors. The Alchemy business unit was recently sold to Raza Microelectronics.
Outside of my professional life, I have several hobbies. I'm a Linux hobbiest and a strong open source software advocate. I'm a former Site Administrator for the Gentoo Linux Forums. I've been using Gentoo Linux since the 1.1a release.
I'm also a JFK Assassination theorist. As a high school student, I interned with the JFK Assassination records review board in Washington, D.C., and I've visited Dealey Plaza in Dallas, TX. For the record, I believe Oswald acted alone, but if you're going to pick a conspiracy, the one that makes the most sense to me is the theory that the American Mafia had him killed.
I'm also a fan of Indianapolis area sports teams and I'm looking forward to watching the Colts win the Superbowl for a second straight year.
