Wenye Wang obtained her Ph.D. degree from  Electrical and Computer Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology, with Dr. Ian F. Akyildiz in Atlanta, Georiga. Her Ph.D. thesis is on location management in heterogeneous wireless networks. In Fall 2002, she joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, NC State University,  as an assistnat professor and has been an associate professor since Fall 2008.

Her current research interests include
mobile and secure computing, modeling and performance analysis of single-  and multi-hop wireless  networks, network topology and architecture design (see NeTWIS web page for details). Dr. Wang is a recipient of the NSF CAREER Award 2006. She is the co-recipient of 2006 IEEE GLOBECOM Best Student Paper Award -- Communication Networks, and the co-recipient of 2004 IEEE Conference on Computer Communications and Networks (ICCCN) Best Student Paper Award. She is a member of IEEE Communication Society, and member of ACM since 1998. She has been a member of Eta Kappa Nu, and Gamma Beta Phi Honorary Society since 2001.
