MA 121 Elements of Calculus

Text: Calculus (9-th Ed.) by Bittinger, M. L.
Make sure that you obtain the course DVD's along with your text.
We will cover the material in the text through Chapter 6. There will
be 4 take-home tests (or assignments) which may be found below as pdf files. As you complete a
test,
mail it to me at the address below.
In addition, there will be an open notes final exam that you will take
on campus (or at another approved testing site). The exam will be given on July31 - August 6. I will provide
more information about the final exam later.
Grading Policy: Take Home Tests 70% of grade
Final Exam 30% of grade
There are no specific due dates for the assignments; work at
your own pace in order to complete the course by July 29. A
suggested
schedule is
Assignment 1 after Chapter 1- June 4
Assignment 2 after Chapter 3- June 20
Assignment 3 after Chapter 4- July 10
Assignment 4 after Chapter 6- July 28
Make sure that you complete the indicated chapters before you attempt the assignments.
In order to do well on these tests, you should keep up with the homework assignments that are mentioned in the DVDs. You do not send in these problems. These problems refer to the 7th edition of the text. Here is a link for a list of the corresponding problems in the 8th edition: HOMEWORK
