My 100 Favorite Games of All Time
Includes Games Before: August 1, 2007
Last Updated: January 29, 2008
Yup, you guessed it. This page is exactly as the title suggests- a list of my 100 favorite games of all time. I though back to all the games I have played that made an impact on me in some way or another, and these are the top 100 that I could cook up. The basic feature that all of these games share is that they impacted me in some significant, notable way. And generally, games higher in the list had a larger impact on me. That's my main method for the creation of this thing, though I certainly considered the game's strengths from a critics' point of view, as well as how much the games impacted the industry. But how much they impacted me took top priority. So in the end, there wasn't really any sort of scientific method used- these are simply my 100 favorite games of all time. Also, these are by no means the only 100 good games I've ever played. There are many, many more games than these that are amazing in their own right- these are just my favorites of what I've played. Of all the games I have ever played, these are the ones that deserve some extra, honorable mention the most. So I'm giving it to them.
Alright, on with the show. I sectioned off the games as you see below, so feel free to browse as you please using the links at the bottom of each page (though I designed this site with the intent that readers would move from 100 down to 1). I give a little information for each game, as well as a small description as to why I thought the game was great, and/or why it had the impact on me that it did. This information will follow the predefined format shown below.
Finally, and most importantly, I only consider games that have been out some number of months. I'm playing great games pretty much all the time, yet I don't think it is fair to include a game I just played last week in this list. Perspective is a good thing, and I need time before I realize how much a game impacted me. Therefore, I will always have a cutoff date (shown at the top of this page) that shows what games are eligible for this list. Generally anything older than 6 months or so is good. I will also update this list periodically to include new games, so if you check back occasionally you may find that some new games have appeared (the date in which I last updated is also at the top of this page).
Enough babbling. Go read about my 100 favorite games I've ever played!
(P.S. To those who care, my review site is officially dead. It just took too much effort to keep going, and I have lots of other things to do all the time... not to mention playing the games seems to be taking increasingly more time every year. I also just got a little tired of having to pin a numbered score to a game, as numbered scores can often be misleading. There are plenty of review sites around if you really want them- Gamespot, 1up, and IGN are good ones to check out. However, I am still playing lots of games, so if you want my "professional" opinion about any game, then I will gladly give it if you ask nicely enough- barring the fact that I have played it of course.)
(P.S.S. Although, my Midi Challenge is still up and running. You can find it here. I just couldn't bear to take that one down...)
