It is our belief that weather forecasting can be optimized
through a physical and conceputal understanding of atmospheric
processes, comprehensive understanding of numerical models and
observational technologies, and responsible utilization of numerical
model output. The research objectives of this laboratory are to enhance understanding and to improve forecasting of synoptic-scale and mesoscale weather systems via observational and theoretical analysis, formulation and refinement of conceptual models, and improvements to numerical weather prediction models. |
